"Songs of Faith and Devotion" is an album by the British band "Depeche Mode". A follow-up to their massively successful synth pop album Violator, this was recorded after the band had spent some time separated, returning with new responsibilities, worries and addictions! Tensions ran high and the band were pretty much burnt out before they started. Despite this, and maybe because of it, this work is darker, moodier, more raw and emotional than their previous offering. It is a stunning piece of art, with every track deserving its place on the album, and every emotion visited. You may lose yourself, or find yourself, or find god, or lose one. Listening to this masterpiece is always worth the effort - surely one of the greatest albums recorded.
